Summary: For many people around the world, ice-skating is a hobby when winter rolls around. But, for residents of Moscow, Russia it’s the main event. Every year in the city’s historic Red Square a rink is built and it welcomes skaters from the beginning of the winter until spring.

Summary: Recently, several British rock and pop stars gathered in London to record the song, “Do They Know It’s Christmas” to raise money for West African nations struggling to stop the spread of Ebola. Ebola is a deadly virus and has recently killed over 5,000 people in several West African countries.

Summary: This season, over 500 people marched alongside holiday floats in the Christmas parade in La Paz. Many of the parade participants dressed up in holiday costumes such as snowmen, Christmas trees, or Santa Claus. They also sang along to Christmas carols on the parade route while a crowd of about 10,000 viewers cheered them on.

Summary: A new doll will soon appear on the shelves of toy stores around the U.S., just in time for the holiday season. The Lammily doll may look like a Barbie doll at first glance, but unlike Barbie, the new doll has the proportions of an average teenage female body. The creator of Lammily, graphic designer Nickolay Lamm, wanted to make a doll that looked more like a real human being while still being stylish and beautiful.
